Reasons and solutions for the malfunction of the winch mechanism actuator:

During the process of adjusting the brake of the winch, there are often situations where it is too tight to release or too loose to hold. So what is the reason for this? How should we solve it?

(1) The relative error between the sleeve center of the brake wheel and the center of the brake pad is too large (not allowed to exceed 3mm). This is because there was an error in the installation of the gearbox after maintenance, which caused the position of the brake wheel to be changed, resulting in a case where the brake shoe could not be opened due to one side breaking through the shoe. When the brake wheel is aligned at the center of two brake shoes, this fault can be eliminated.

(2) The centerline of the brake shoe and brake wheel is tilted. When the installation position of the winch reducer and the sliding lever system (brake frame) is incorrect, it can cause partial alignment between the intermediate bearing and the brake wheel, causing the closed bearing to not tightly hold the brake wheel. In this case, tightening it slightly will result in the brake shoe not fully loosening from the brake wheel, causing the brake wheel to experience high heat due to friction. When the brake shoe is released, the inclination or unevenness between the brake shoe and the brake wheel shall not exceed one thousandth of the width of the brake wheel.

(3) Due to severe wear and tear on the various pin shafts and shaft holes of the brake, the ineffective stroke (empty stroke) for adjusting the electromagnet is increased, while the effective stroke is reduced.

(4) After the brake wheel is worn, it causes errors during reprocessing.

(5) Due to improper adjustment of the winch, the brake solenoid stroke is too small. This situation often occurs due to only adjusting the pull rod without adjusting the vertical rod (6) The machining size of the newly replaced adjusting pull rod is incorrect.

(7) The main spring is not under force or the adjustment screw (top screw) is not properly adjusted, resulting in one case of excessive tension and one case of insufficient tension.

(8) The upper and lower connections of the winch brake electromagnet traction rod are extremely rigid, and the movement resistance of the traction rod is too large, which causes the electromagnet to fail to absorb or makes it difficult to judge the quality of the winch

1. Check if the wire rope of the winch is complete. If the steel wire rope is found to be scratched, twisted, deformed, or broken after receiving the winch, please contact the manufacturer in a timely manner to return or exchange the goods. Steel wire rope is the load-bearing component of the winch, and high-quality manufacturers will not make such low-level mistakes.

2. Check if the surface of the winch is smooth and flat. In order to save costs, low-quality winches will use paint of poor quality. Although it cannot be detected, if compared with regular manufacturers' winches, it will be found that the color of low-quality winches is relatively dim and rough to the touch.

The above is a simple technique for judging the quality of a winch. If you want to learn more, please feel free to call for consultation.

Improper operation or prolonged use of the winch can lead to poor braking effect and slipping during braking. Therefore, it is important to maintain the winch brake to improve efficiency and operate the winch safely. The following is the maintenance knowledge of the winch mechanism actuator summarized by the editor for everyone, which can be stored for future use.

1. According to the requirements of the brake manual and in combination with the actual situation of on-load debugging, adjust the working stroke of the brake spring and brake shoe to ensure reliable braking during power outage and even release after power on.

2. The working surface of the brake wheel must be flat and smooth, and the contact surface between the brake shoe and the brake wheel should not be less than 80%. Oil and water should be avoided from entering, causing slipping.

When the spring experiences cracks or permanent deformation, it should be replaced with a new component.

4. Regularly check the wear condition of asbestos brake pads, and replace them when the wear exceeds 2mm.
