Drum brake:
(1) Simple unbalanced brake: This is a common hydraulic wheel brake. In this kind of brake, the auxiliary potential shoe, by the action of friction force, causes the pressure on the brake drum to be much greater than the reducing potential shoe. In order to make the two shoes wear evenly, make the auxiliary potential shoe longer than the reducing potential shoe, so that the opening force acting on the shoe is different, but the friction torque is equal, so as to achieve the purpose of uniform wear.
(2) Balanced brake: the balanced brake has two types: one-way potential assistance and two-way potential assistance. The one-way potential assistance balanced brake has the function of automatic potential assistance when each shoe is hard pressed against the brake drum, but when reversing, it will become a reduced potential shoe, with poor braking effect. Because of its large one-way braking torque, it is called one-way balanced brake. The front and rear brake wheel cylinders of the two-way balanced brake drive the two floating brake shoes. When braking forward, all the wheel cylinder pistons move outward under the action of hydraulic pressure, pressing the two shoe pads against the brake drum. Under the action of the friction torque of the brake drum, both shoes rotate in the direction of wheel rotation until the support at the outer end of the piston of the two wheel cylinders is pushed back to the end face of the wheel cylinder.
