The main defects caused by the friction disc assembly are: wear and burning of the friction plates; Cracks or looseness of rivets; Spline wear and friction disc deformation (warping), etc.

The total thickness of the friction disc assembly varies depending on the model. The standard thickness of the Tieniu-55 tractor is 12 ± 0.1 millimeters, while the standard thickness of the Fengshou-35 tractor is 11.3+0.15 millimeters. When the friction plate is worn due to the total cause of the friction plate, and the total thickness is 3 mm less than the standard size, the friction plate should be replaced in time. When there are cracks or many loose rivets at the rivet head, and the settlement of the rivet head exceeds the limit value, the friction plate should be replaced. For many years, the fixing method of brake pads for domestic brake products has been using riveting and pressure plate assembly. The riveted connection is time-consuming and not material saving. Although the pressure plate assembly connection is convenient for maintenance and replacement, the utilization rate of the brake pad is low and the waste is serious. The fixing of the brake pad of the electric hydraulic brake adopts a plug-in connection, which overcomes the axial movement of the brake pad and omits the baffle. Not only is it convenient for replacement and maintenance, but the utilization rate of the brake pad can be increased by 30%, and some parts in the fixing are reduced, saving materials and time.

For decades, there have been basically two types of brake backtracking adjustment devices in China. One is the limit position by the top screw. When the brake arm is opened, this device needs to repeatedly adjust the top screws on both sides to ensure that the backtracking on both sides is roughly equal, and when opened, the impact force is relatively large. If the automatic compensation mechanism is installed on the brake and the brake pad is worn, the device needs to be continuously adjusted. Otherwise, the top screw limit device will fail. The second is the spring limit, which is difficult to adjust and has a complex structure. Advanced brake products from foreign countries also have equal backlash device mechanisms, but the structural form is to cast the left and right connecting plates of the equal backlash device separately with the left and right brake arms, which is complex in casting structure, cumbersome in processing, and difficult.
